Petit Ermitage: Beyond Arch

Petit Ermitage is definitely one of the most unique places I have stayed. This hotel is in West Hollywood and even upon entering you can tell it is going to be a very interesting place to stay. It has a vibe like no other hotel I have ever been too. It also smells amazing! It is dark and moody and a perfect place for a romantic couples weekend. The rooftop pool view is nothing short of incredible. You have a gorgeous view of the Hollywood Hills one direction and can see downtown LA in the distance a different direction. Watching the sunrise over the city was beautiful! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was definitely one of my more memorable hotel stays.

My stay was amazing - starting with a warm greeting from the valet staff outside, everything flowed beautifully throughout. The room felt like it was brought from Paris, with great accent pieces and very comfortable furniture. There were lots of "extras" on-hand, from snacks and beverages, to a well-thought out minibar. The rooftop pool area was a must - the oversized lounges were just as welcoming as the staff. Bursting with sunshine, it was great to catch up with old friends who were visiting, as well as make new friends among the other guests. This is where the hedonism part comes in - but you'll have to experience that yourself when you visit! Thanks to Thomas at Reception and George who took care of my friends and I while dining on the rooftop last night, for their excellent service!

Petit Ermitage is one of my favorite boutique hotels. I live in Los Angeles but staying here feels like a true vacation. I stayed here with a couple close friends to celebrate my birthday this weekend, and it was truly so special. Petit Ermitage is so lovely. It feels like you are transported to a Riad in Moracco. The rooms are special (not just a stark white room) and each has its own personality. The beds are also really comfortable. But it is truly the outside roof deck experience that brings me back. The roof top has everything from a pool surrounded by wide lounge beds which you can reserve and enjoy a fabulous day in the sun, to a fire deck which glows at night with the lights of the hotel, the stars and the roaring fireplace, to a great bar, and a restaurant where you can dine next to a hummingbird sanctuary. The staff are welcoming and attentive, while not overbearing. Some staff worth mentioning are Mama, Seng, Miley, and George (on the roof), and Thomas at the front desk. Even a new staff member working on Saturday night at the restaurant, fit right and checked on us in a very Petit way (I can't recall his name). The staff make you feel like you are coming to a home away from home. If you are looking for a unique experience, in a uniquely beautiful older style boutique hotel, this is your place. Thank you to all the staff (and of course my friends who planned our weekend) for a wonderful birthday weekend. I will definitely be back.

The rooms are overrated and overpriced for the extent of cleanliness. You can smell the mildew in the halls and see the dirt on the carpets. When we first arrived, the room was hot/ac was not working. Our next room was very smelly and just plain dirty. But the pool is fantastic. Stay here if you don’t have a good sense of smell.

My recent staycation at Petit Ermitage was both exciting and deeply relaxing. The beautiful, chic interiors, dining and pool deck design elevated my mood. The low key music along with the chatter of other relaxing guests, and the attentive yet unobtrusive staff was the perfect antitode to the summer doldroms. Absolute luxury!
