Great hotel, perfectly located near the beach and other areas of interest. Highly recommend Cora’s Coffee Shop across the street for breakfast.
They provided champagne at check-in, which was nice. Concierge was helpful- had my shoes shined and provided a steamer for our clothes as we were in town for a wedding. The brakes were terrible on the bikes but we enjoyed having them free to use- great way to explore the area.

Great hotel and very friendly & accommodating staff! We held our son’s Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Reception here - perfect patio terrace. Most of our guests stayed here, also; easy for morning coffee, biking and walking Santa Monica. The chef is outstanding! Can’t wait to return…

My favorite hotel in the LA area, the Viceroy is perfectly located on Ocean Ave in the spectacular beach town of Santa Monica. The hotel was updated a few years ago and the new look has a light and airy beach vibe that's extremely warm and comforting. There are 2 nice pools (note: more for families than a glam pool scene), a wonderful patio area for relaxing, dining and drinking, and the beach is just a 3-minute walk away. I found the service to be truly exceptional and cannot say enough great things about every staff member I interacted with. My one complaint -- and it's a small one given all the positives -- is they don't have complimentary coffee in the morning. $5 for a small, mediocre coffee isn't a great way to wake up during a business trip. Add free coffee service and the Viceroy would get my 5-star rating for life!

Such a lovely place to stay at - I can highly recommend it. The location is fantastic, just by the beach, walking distance to restaurants & shops, and a hop & skip from Venice. Get a bike from the hotel (at no additional fee) and cycle along the beach.
Very chill pool and bar area in the backyard and the friendliest porter/bellboy, who will always share a smile and well wishes, to start or end your day.

First night in and sadly already know this hotel is not up to the standards that its price should entail. As someone who travels for longer hauls for work and really values a space to feel comfortable and happy in, it’s disappointing to encounter places like this. Rooms are clearly outdated, the bed mattress and sheets are wildly uncomfortable and feel quite old - the mattress crunches every time you move - not sure what it’s made of. The TV does not have streaming capabilities or the ability to cast….who watches cable in 2022? I’m not someone who writes negative reviews often so this is a true bummer. @Viceroy please deliver better value to your guests!
