The Silverlake Lounge is a beloved drinking establishment that has served the LA community since 1938. It has a rich history as a nightlife venue, especially within the indie music scene and the LGBT community. In the early 2000s, it gained fame as a hub for emerging indie bands, with notable acts such as Rilo Kiley, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and The Silversun Pickups all starting their careers on our stage. As the longest-standing independent live music venue in Silverlake, the Silverlake Lounge has become a vital part of local history. It is a place of diversity and a safe space for creatives and the BIPOC queer community.
Our mission is to provide nightly entertainment featuring independent and emerging artists, while also remaining a local gathering place for the East Side neighborhood. Our lineups showcase the diversity of our community, with a range of genres including indie, punk, country, and folk, as well as singer/songwriter showcases, drag cabaret, comedy, and karaoke. We are committed to our community and plan to host a heavily sponsored fundraiser for local BIPOC/LGBT services. In a time when many properties are being taken over by global booking companies, we are determined to keep the East Side indie.
