We had such a lovely stay. The staff and service were some of the best we've experienced. Everyone was very friendly, and helpful. The hotel was newly renovated, and very well maintained. The crisp sheets, fluffy towels, and comfortable bed were perfect. We had a great stay and will stay here again.
An extra chair or two in the living room around the fireplace, a few hooks in the bathroom, and a few more shelves/small dresser for clothes storage would be nice additions to add to the comfort.

If you want a charming, historical boutique hotel within walking distance of all great dining, shops, and basilica on Main St., Ventura… this is your place! The rooms are very spacious and decor is incredibly charming and unique. Front desk staff/valet were all friendly and helpful. Loved the front seating area and fireplace for our morning coffee/evening wine. We have family living close by, so this will be our go-to spot to stay while visiting!

This hotel is truly incredible, with impressive attention to detail! The location is fantastic—just a one-minute walk to downtown and only ten minutes walk from the pier. The complimentary snacks were absolutely delicious! Miranda, the manager, and her team are incredibly attentive and caring. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation!

I have stayed here solo a few times. It’s hands down a step above any other hotel in the downtown area. Beautifully renovated historic building in unbeatable location. With that said, here’s what you probably need to know since expectations are everything.
The friendly and attentive staff is what really makes this boutique hotel a gem.
The standard rooms have an open concept with the showers. (Keep this in mind if you’re traveling with a friend). With that said, the rooms are lovely, spacious, and spotless. Very comfortable beds and really nice touches throughout highlighting the old Lodge.
Some reviews have mentioned the noise from above. I have never had this issue staying here personally, stayed on multiple floors. Slept like the dead.
Unbeatable location if you want quick access to downtown and beaches. Free bikes on site.
Ventura doesn’t really have a luxury hotel market if that’s what you’re looking for (head north to Santa Barbara). In my opinion, San Buena is where you want to go if you want to elevate your stay above the holiday inns and residence inns in the area. And I think the room rates are commensurate with the quality of the stay.
