The Westin San Francisco Airport

Yummy bed. Full, fluffy comforter, nice sheets. Decent pillows. The view of the bay with the jets landing and taking off was fun. Not very loud. We could hear the child crying through the wall more, but not terribly. The two doors too close together at the closet and the bathroom was awkward. But we just used the open closet door for the closed bathroom door and left the bathroom door open and out of the way. Love the plentiful hangers that come completely off the rung. So convenient.

My room was tiny, but good for me alone. Everything was so nice, staff friendly, cute pool, convenient airport shuttle. The restaurant is a little overpriced. A New York strip plus a cup of wine cost me $80. Above average level, but no compete with those nice steak houses for that price. Walk along the bay trail was a plus, watching air jets landing was kind of fun.

Convenient is the best description for this Westin. There’s an airport shuttle that picks you and drops you off. I stayed in Room 640, a very sad and bunker-like executive suite. The living area is clean with a couch and small table with two chairs. There’s a wide screen TV. No windows and quite claustrophobic. There’s an alcove in the living room that’s empty. I wish they placed a microwave in there. There is a refrigerator in the room. Bedroom is standard. Bed and pillows are comfy. They have an ice machine on this floor but there’s no ice bucket in the room. Complimentary breakfast is highlight of this stay. Grill & Vine restaurant had great staff and good buffet selection. Overall, it’s a hotel built for people who missed their flights or on long layovers.

To keep my privacy and the privacy of the front desk employee, names or exact problems will be simplified. We arrived late at night, got here no problem, first a person rudely greeted us with ID please, nothing else, not even hi. I get it, everyone is tied and the night is boring working front desk but come on nothing better to say? We had problems at the front desk and the person started to raise their voice and didn’t even care to explain, just said “we have our own rules”, as a hotel under a franchise, the rules should be the same across the board and they are for 99% of the Marriott we stayed at. Somehow the management of this hotel decided otherwise. We thought the hotel was nice from the outside when we arrived and happy that we booked here. But We were treated so rudely at the front desk that it didn’t matter, the room is old, the nightstand was dusty and bathtub was not very clean. When we walked to the elevators, we can hear the person talking to another person behind our backs saying words about us. I’ve seen many reviews recently complaining about rude staff, this is the rudest staff I’ve come across after more than 15 years with Marriott. I know you will write your “PR” type response to this and say you will look into it, but how about doing something about the rude staff at the front desk, worse than roadside motel staff.

Good service. The room was clean and spacious. Could stand an upgrade/refreshing. Very convenient to the airport and 15 min shuttle service. We dropped our luggage off first and then refueled our rental car. The Shell station was just down the street and with normal pricing. We returned the rental car at the airport and then took the shuttle bus back to the hotel. Would stay here again.
