I wasn’t sure we would find a nice hotel to stay at in Bakersfield, but I was happily surprised by The Padre Hotel! After reading the glowing reviews, I decided to give it a shot—and I’m so glad I did. From the moment we checked in, everything was smooth and hassle-free. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel right at home.
The hotel itself is clean and well-maintained, which was a big plus for me as I’m a bit of a clean freak. While some corners could use a little more attention, it was still much better than other hotels I’ve stayed at. The room was comfortable and inviting, and the bathtub was a godsend after a long road trip—perfect for unwinding.
The room service was excellent, and the food from the hotel restaurant was nothing short of amazing. Whether you’re staying in Bakersfield or just passing through, I highly recommend The Padre Hotel. The only minor downside was the parking situation, but with a parking garage conveniently located right across the street, it wasn’t a dealbreaker at all. This hotel exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely stay here again!

We would definitely stay here again. The restaurant made amazing craft cocktails and the service was also fantastic. The room was clean and spacious and near the downtown area where you could walk around and go to nearby restaurants. If you drink the bottled water in your room, just beware that it is NOT free and there was nothing clearly stating that.

Overall, our experience at The Padre was great. The room was clean and well decorated; it did show minimal wear, particularly on the light blocking curtains. The room service food was good. Dinner at Brimstone was a long wait but was delicious, except the lava cake, which was dry. We used the valet service; it was efficient and time-saving.

My favorite place to stay in Bakersfield. This place has so much character. The bed was so comfortable I begged my husband to book another night so I didn't have to get out of it. It didn't work unfortunately :( Out shower had a window into the bedroom that had a curtain. Was very interesting but a fun touch. The bar and restaurant are always fun. Bartenders are always very hospitable. The front desk staff were beyond professional and welcoming. Can't want to have another reason the stay at The Padre.

It didn't work unfortunately :( Out shower had a window into the bedroom that had a curtain. Was very interesting but a fun touch. The bar and restaurant are always fun. PSA - DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU CAN SLEEP THROUGH ANYTHING. I was here for two nights and both nights music from a club (I’m assuming) across the street blared until 1am. To the point where I can hear everything with the windows shut and ear plugs on. Unfortunately for this hotel, as long as this source of noise exists, their business is completely unviable as a place to sleep peacefully. Seriously do not stay here!!! So unfortunate.
Besides the noise, they have a nice bar/restaurant and good wifi. The staff are nice, although they don’t have bellmen & instead have self service luggage carts which is a choice. Our room was spacious but the TV was small/low res and the nozzle on our shower was broken.
Overall, I strongly do not recommend unless this hotel buys out the club or something that’s creating that noise because it’s beyond awful.
