Adriana it’s an Amazing manager, she helps us with all our doubts.
The entire hotel feels clean, the rooms are very comfortable and the entire staff is very friendly, from Daniel the valet to the front desk staff, like Bobby the auditor and cleaning staff.
The restaurant seems abandoned with no customers and the food is very expensive, so we decided to go out to have breakfast somewhere else.
Thank you for such lovely hospitality. We love you.

Adriana is the best! Flight got in early so our room wasn’t ready but she got us another room that was already clean. Beds were comfortable staying all week and beds and linens were refreshed by housekeeping daily. Quiet hallways and no noise from other rooms.
Beautiful wood accents and charming Portuguese decor. Room only has 1 wardrobe and no drawer space so storage is limited. Showers are modern with rain nozzle and hand held hose. Shower is clear glass so there’s no privacy if a family is staying together and needs to use restroom when someone is showering.
We stayed here for the location. Short walk to great local eats that are highly rated and delicious! We loved the walking distance to great restaurants on shelter island but also grabbing coffee at Better Buzzed across the street and even grabbing fresh Winchell’s donuts. Easy access to freeways and to the airport and downtown for tourist sites, but we preferred going to the local beaches only a short drive away. Also hit up Liberty Station to hang out and grabbing snacks and drinks at Trader Joe’s.
Great view and access across the street to the marina. Valet parking is $37 per day but there’s free street parking up the street in the residential area or just a few blocks away. No issues getting a parking spot everyday within blocks of the hotel.

We were here for a wedding during the July 4 weekend and did not enjoy it as much as we wanted. Rooms were not ready when we arrived despite being booked for months & really hate this place comes off like it’s a 4 star hotel when it’s a 2 star. The daily rate they were charging just didn’t match up. The rooms were clean and the staff were nice. Just was not ready for our check ins. Also dislike the not at all private bathrooms inside our room. Please let go of this fad. There is no parking and valet is useless here. You’re better off looking for your own street parking which takes a long time. The area was convenient and I assume that’s why it was picked for the wedding but yes likely won’t utilize this hotel ever again.

I stayed at the Monsaraz in August 2024 and it exceeded my expectations in every way. I travel a lot for work and leisure and expect a high level of quality from hotels. The front desk staff, housekeeping, and valets were all helpful, flexible, and attentive. The hotel restaurant had good variety and healthy options on the menu. I also loved how walkable the hotel is to the water while also being close to the airport. I will definitely stay here again!

I stayed at the Monsaraz in August 2024 and it exceeded my expectations in every way. I travel a lot for work and leisure and expect a high level of quality from hotels. Our stay at the Monsaraz San Diego was wonderful! The staff was very kind and accommodating. If you have your own vehicle or have rented one there is no better option than the hotel's valet service. It was super nice, except for the couple times where there was no space to park in the valet so we had to make a few circles around and call in about it, but they were quick to remedy the situation. I found the restaurant to be limited on selection so we did not eat there but found some wonderful restaurants only a short drive away.
