Decent stay, although our check-in was delayed till 5:30 due to a linen issue. They were having a massive pool party, which is plus if you want that kind of vibe. They did give us a free glass of wine, which was nice.
Overall the rooms are nice and the view is good. The gym has everything you'd need. My main complaint with the room was sound leakage. I could hear everything going on outside.
Overall, it is a nice place to stay with a great location. I doubt the late check-in issue happens a lot. You can find parking for 40 dollars across the street if you want to avoid 60 dollar valet.
Update: I originally thought the 40 dollar resort fee was waived. It turns out it wasn't. I don't find it acceptable to rent out the pool and charge a resort fee. We had originally hoped to have a peaceful time at the pool. This was not possible when the pool was rented out until 7 pm. At the end of the day, this hotel should have been transparent. If you are going on a weekend I'd suggest booking somewhere else.

I stayed at the Kimpton Alma this past weekend for San Diego Pride and it was truly magical. The rooms were clean and inviting. The decor was gorgeous. The bed and linens were so comfortable and the bathroom and walk in shower with the rainfall faucet were very nice! Housekeeping and staff around the clock were incredibly kind and helpful. The food from the on site restaurant and bar was fantastic! I had the best burger I have ever eaten in my life, at midnight! The rooftop pool and bar area was stunning! The convenience of having a 7/11 right next door was great! It’s also very close to public transport and was extremely easy to get an Uber or Lyft and only about 15-20 min from the airport. It deserves the 4 star rating. I highly recommend staying there.

Trust me get the penthouse with the elevator in it….. but the other rooms are also amazing too…. Pool area on rooftop and the restaurant has a little twist to it…. The bar is top notch

Beautiful hotel..but we had a hard time locating it because of no big name plates on the building.. also it's in the downtown so the location it was in was definitely not what we were expecting..so many homeless people and crowds just roaming around even at midnight ..would never go again especially with small kids
