This review was quite challenging for us to write. We were set on giving Mt. Woodson a perfect five-star rating; however, some aspects have led us to decide on four stars, though it's a heartfelt choice. The positives include a stunning ambiance and location. With Mt. Woodson, you collaborate with their caterer, decorator, bakery, coordinator, and benefit from a wealth of supplies and decor to use for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. It's an all-inclusive package, which makes planning a breeze, supported by their coordinator. Our wedding was the best day of our lives; it was beautiful and everything went smoothly. The food was tasty, our guests were pleased, and there were no significant issues overall. We wed in April 2022, and we were a bit anxious about potential rain, but the weather cooperate beautifully. Mt. Woodson even arranged for heat lamps, which our guests really appreciated as evening set in. The decor was lovely, the bartender was stellar, and we had signature drinks, among other thoughtful details they helped coordinate. Fun games were provided during cocktail hour for guests, and the bridal and grooms' suites were fantastic for pictures. Everything we needed was conveniently on-site. The other vendors we engaged, from the DJ to officiant, florist, photographers, and videographers, made our day even better. They provided recommendations and accepted vendors, and we could hire someone else with approval, which I found reasonable. We have no complaints about the day itself. However, there were factors leading to a four-star review rather than five. When we first toured Mt. Woodson, we were considering other venues, and we interacted with a different coordinator than the one we worked with later on. Her name was Taylor. After booking our date months later, we transitioned to a coordinator named Peyton. She managed our planning and we were informed she would also be our coordinator on the wedding day. But the day before, during the rehearsal, we encountered a new coordinator we hadn’t met; she was still in training and mentioned she would take over the day of, which caused some stress. Unfortunately, details were missed, such as our main archway and floral pillars not being present on the wedding day. Our printed signature drink signs were damaged and not displayed well, and when we asked guests about trying our signature drinks, they were confused. The food was delicious, but we wanted a buffet-style setup and were given plated meals instead, which was fine initially, but when we returned for seconds after photos, our plates were cleared. We ended up hungry as the coordinator was unreachable. Also, we were told leftovers would be packed for us. Since we had a buffet, with extra sides and hors d'oeuvres, we expected some to take home. When we inquired about our leftovers as we were leaving, the coordinator said there were none, and claimed our guests had eaten everything. This raised concerns that guests may have gone hungry, and when we contacted the venue later, they maintained there were no leftovers. This situation led to our four-star rating and our dissatisfaction with communication between the coordinators and the caterers regarding our leftovers. Overall, we had a beautiful wedding and are grateful for our incredible day. Would we recommend Mt. Woodson? Absolutely, though with a note of caution!
