We were so looking forward to spending Valentine's Day night at this elegant hotel. There are many lovely things in the hotel, and the staff couldn't be nicer. It was a nice touch when the concierge brought us champagne when we checked in. However, we were extremely disappointed that in the middle of the night, my partner found a roach crawling up the bathroom wall. He killed it and saved it to show the front desk the following morning. Also, we thought we were paying for an ocean view room, but we only had a partial view, and the windows weren't clean to see out. The bathroom door frame and inside pocket door had peeling paint, and the partial glass shower door allowed water to flow out onto the floor, creating a slip hazard. Also, during the night, we heard toilets flushing on the floor above us. When we checked out, the clerk offered to credit us back the resort fee and the valet parking fee, but we still paid $565, which really wasn't worth the price. It would have been good business to refund us the entire amount. Needless to say, we would never stay here again!

The hotel has great potential; but don't go with an assumption that you'll have a lovely view of the water or of town. Many rooms have views directed at an adjacent building wall three feet away or a roof. Bathroom window also had textured glass with a flood light outside that made the room bright all night. I get that it's an old set of building and it has charm; just set a realistic expectation for the room.

Beautiful spot and great service. Wife loves the crab cake burger. We got married here and go back for brunch every year. Not sure if Bobby still works there but he was great planning our wedding day.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this hotel is outstanding! Everyone was incredibly friendly & helpful (shoutout to Ana at the front desk). The facilities are top notch: pool, restaurant, exercise room, & the proximity to the children’s beach & sea lions was amazing. Room service was delicious, & the room was clean, modern, beautiful, & spacious. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in the area. Kid friendly as well! Thank you for great memories on our vacation!
