Gorgeous museum. My children and I spent a few hours here during a recent trip. Their favorite area was set up for children to take a turn at drawing a masterpiece. They also enjoyed the variety of art available to view. I did take away a star because I felt as though the staff could be more friendly and welcoming. Several times I felt as though we were being followed or watched closely because of the kids. I understand not all parents watch their kids closely, but mine never left my side or even spoke loudly.

This museum participates in NARM and is free to annual pass holders. The collections are decent for being a smaller museum with two floors of paintings, scultures, sketches, vessels, and artifacts. Beautifully curated areas and well marked placards. The space is utilized well and flows organically, even when crowded. the layout is easy to navigate. I'd give a minimum of 2 hours to go through and enjoy. Plenty of reflection seating throughout the area.
Staff was friendly, and even one of the security guards provided us with some background information on a painting.
The gift shop had a variety of items which were reasonably priced.
Honestly, I love mostly all museums and it's hard for me to review poorly unless it really is lack luster. This is a smaller museum and doesn't cover every single region of the world or period or even types, but I wouldn't expect it to. It does a decent enough job of displaying the collections and makes any visit enjoyable.

This museum has an interesting mix of art, including some contemporary/modern, Japanese elements reflecting the Japanese influence on southern California, and Spanish/Mexican mosaics. I found the paintings to be, once again, more to my liking, less on the impressionist side and more like paintings of scenery that is recognizable as scenery.

A lovely museum! I was impressed by the range of the collection on display from Asian art and baroque to contemporary women artists and photography. Bonus that it's located in such a cool area with lots of other museums to visit!
