It’s so funny to read some of these reviews and see how picky people are. The bottom line is there are not many options in West Hollywood especially close to Santa Monica Blvd.
My experience has been completely positive. The staff were very welcoming and the service has been amazing. I have been texted daily asking if I need anything. I have been able to text the staff and get responses almost immediately. I don’t know why the other gentleman said there was no complementary water, but the front desk always has water bottles for free at any Kimpton hotel.
For the price you’re paying and the location you’re in there is really nothing to complain about. They do not post their views online while there is really good view from the terrace, it’s nice to have a hotel in the location that it is with an option for a terrace.
Always take a review with a grain of salt because some of these reviews are pretty comical. This is a hotel not a spoil you rotten resort. It’s amazing how nice people are to you when you offer them the same respect. If you act entitled don’t be surprised if people are rude to you.

Where to begin… Very little counter space in the bathroom and a weird side shelf on the wall where you could see crazy glue peeking out of the edges. It must have fallen down in the past. Front desk staff were overly polite to a white couple but dismissive to me, a non-white individual, side by side. Over the next few days, I observed this as a pattern in their behavior to other guests. Your racism is peeking through, Karen.
No complimentary bottles of water, no coffee or tea, no tea kettle, and no hair dryer in the hotel room of this "5 star hotel." I requested a hair dryer and it took 40 minutes and 5 phone calls. Good luck if you realize your room has no hair dryer on your way out to meetings in the morning. Walls are paper thin. You can hear dogs barking from down the street for hours at a time, because the hotel is in a residential commercial area. You can also hear the footsteps of the neighbors above you.
Only positives are the valet staff and the kind servers working inside the restaurant on premises. Location is also good. But everything else will make you see this is a 2.5 or 3 star hotel wishing it could be 5 stars.

Good location. Nice neighborhood. Lobby, restaurant, bar and pool areas are nicely done. Room was quirky and poorly designed, and needs to be redone in any event. The hallways are kept way too cold. Staff is nice and friendly, but many are clearly inexperienced or not well trained. The hotel is seriously understaffed. It is definitely not a five star hotel and somewhat overpriced. It does not compare favorably to other Kimptons I have stayed in. Disappointing.

Good location. Nice neighborhood. Lobby, restaurant, bar and pool areas are nicely done. Room was quirky and poorly designed, and needs to be redone in any event. The hallways are kept way too cold. Staff is nice and friendly, but many are clearly inexperienced or not well trained. The hotel is seriously understaffed. It is definitely not a five star hotel and somewhat overpriced. It does not compare favorably to other Kimptons I have stayed in. Disappointing.

Spending a couple nights here with some friends. So far we’ve spent one night here and there is nothing really 5 star about this place. The lobby is nice but it sort of ended there. Upon checkin, our experience kinda went downhill. We got there a bit before 4pm so had to wait for our room. Which was fine but the person checking us in was a little aggressive and told us we were asking for too many accommodations when we requested we get two rooms on the same floor facing the courtyard. Even though we said we didn’t mind waiting for them until they could be cleaned.
Fast forward to actually being in the rooms, there’s no coffee or tea or coffee maker, no complimentary bottles of water and the walls are paper thin. Literally no insulation. We could hear our neighbor coughing, snoring, talking, everything.
The people on top of us sound like a pack of elephants. From 4am til about 8am there was non stop noises of thumping, furniture moving, people running back and forth etc. we called the front desk to see if anything could be done which led them to tell us it was babies running back and forth. If a 5 star hotel cannot insular the footsteps of a baby, it should not be a 5 star. The solution was to let us know they’d be checking out today or have us pack up our items and move us at 7am to a different room with a view of a building to take our chances that the guests above us were not as noisy.
