It's a nice, eclectic hotel (lots of personality) in a relatively safe area, which is good given the decline of San Francisco overall. Yes the lobby and bar are the high point but it's not just for show. It's where I enjoyed much of my time here. Lots of comfortable seating and open space to relax or meet with others. The mall is 20 seconds away and has some surprisingly outstanding sushi and Japanese stores.

My wife and I were only here for our wedding night. We booked the suite as price was fairly comparable to a standard room. The suite was spacious but could have used more seating. We just had a large group visit between events.
We cannot say much about food because we did not try. We did use the water and coffee/tea station. It seemed like it always stocked.

We stayed here last Saturday and the hotel was very nice for a boutique hotel, clean and spacious and very accessible to Japantown center and the restaurants there. I would have given this a 5 star rating if the toilet was a bidet just like in Japan and most importantly because the garage attendant was rude. I left around 8am on a Sunday to attend my Spartan race and the garage gates were closed on both the Post and Geary exit so I asked the attendant, a black guy if the gates will be opened and he said yes it will automatically open and I think there was a miscommunication that happened because he sounds like a non native English speaker and he thought I was referring to the gate bar so I went in and inserted my parking ticket and the gate bar opened but I waited for the main gates to be opened automatically or by him. I waited then I honked my horn and he opened the gate and I waited for it to open fully to exit but then he suddenly came up to me and in a condescending loud voice said that the gate is already opened dont you see the gates opened? I also tried to reason about our misunderstanding in a calm way but he was just condescending so I just left and forgot about it.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. When back in San Francisco, we will not stay anywhere else. The staff was absolutely incredible. The front desk was kind, friendly, and knew us by name. We had left the penthouse of the Parc 55 to come here, and it did not disappoint. The rooms are incredibly spacious. We had direct access to the courtyard and could open the sliding doors for a great breeze. Our Golden retriever even made friends with the fish in the coy pond. A self-serve espresso machine for anytime was ultra convenient. The bar and reading area are so comfortable and inviting. The gym is by far the best hotel gym (for me) I've ever been in. An entire area is dedicated to a beautiful heavy bag with gloves and wraps. There is plenty of state of the art equipment to go along with it as well. The area, Japantown, is clean, friendly, and has some of the best food in the city. Highly recommend this beautiful place.

My favorite Hyatt property in all of SF.
Stayed there many times and will love to continue coming back.
IMO the corner king is the best room available. Staff is friendly and kind,location in Japantown is unbeatable
