Pretty par for the municipal course experience. Can't hold a hole lot to them other than the slow play. All the rain did what it did on a couple of holes that are now currently under repair. Easy to get in; forever to get off.

UPDATE - Course suffered significant damage from rains and flooding this week. They're working to repair but will take some time--call before you book. Course was unplayable/closed when I drove by today, 24 Jan 2024.

Typical muni--cheap, but you get what you pay for. Greens are nearly recovered from Spring punching but need another week or so and they will be good. Despite efforts to plug sod, fairways still have large portions of bare dirt. The fringes need mowing and we lost multiple balls in or at the edges as a result. Driving range is poor as always but at least you can limber up before the round. Practice and chipping greens are small but adequate. Tee boxes are fair at best. Restaurant is closed but you can grab a burger and a beer with a nice but small seating area near the clubhouse. The course needs our patronage but I wish they did a better job of maintaining it.

Was here for a wedding. The outdoor ceremony location was ok. The small room where the cocktail hour was held was Hot as all get out!! No A/C and when there are a lot of bodies in there it gets warm Real Fast!! There we're barely any chairs available for the cocktail hour. The food was great, especially the chicken! Was shocked when no one from the facility assisted with the cutting of the cake!! The Maid Of Honor and 2 wedding guests stepped in to cut the cake which was nearly frozen in the middle.

This course is not at all worth the price. 90 dollars plus for 2 people is a robbery. I played this course during the week and the conditions were less than satisfactory. I barely made it to 10 holes and left early in the morning. I felt bad for the owner and workers when they asked me where I was going. This shows how blind they are to the course conditions. Of course I am leaving, the course reminds me of a trail in the mountains with hardpan as a fairway. The previous reviews do not show how bad this course is. Please do not think this is a steal for a course. A steal implies that there is some type of enjoyment or pleasure, i did not enjoy nor get any pleasure out of playing this course. San diego is supposed to be known for its quality courses and this course is well below a traditional unkept municipal. I don’t understand how people would pay money for this. I advise anyone to avoid this course at all cost and pay the extra 20 bucks to play a better course in San Diego. Pay the extra money for Torrey pines or coronado to not have an experience as mine

Okay, decided to come out to Chula Vista municipal golf course and I really didn't know what to expect. Transition from the clubhouse to the course was relatively smooth. The carts seem to be very well maintained ... The course itself had a lot to be desired. The approach area and the greens were tolerable but the fairways were terrible ... We did see quite a few greens people out there. Not really sure what they were doing other than standing in the way. Again for the price which could even be sweeter. It is definitely a golf course and if you're not all about cosmetics, you'll definitely have fun.
