Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa

The resort was beautiful! I loved the palm gardens, fish ponds, ducks and birds! Direct access to the beach on the bay was nice. I loved the heated pool and jacuzzi too. The staff was super friendly. If it wasn't for the bit of trouble with the sliding closet and patio doors as well as the entry door, I would have rated higher, but at least they came to repair it quickly. The food at the pub was not the best but we mostly ate elsewhere anyhow. Overall, it was a great place to stay for our vacation. We hope to return soon!

Our stay at Hotel Catamaran in San Diego was amazing! Dante at the front desk went above and beyond to make our experience memorable, and his kindness set the tone for an outstanding stay. All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from start to finish. The location couldn’t be better—the bay is right in front of the hotel, and waking up to those breathtaking views each morning was such a treat! We loved how easy it was to walk everywhere; restaurants, the beach, and so many attractions were just steps away. There’s so much to do right on the property, and the food at the hotel was equally fantastic, with a great range of delicious options. The amenities were comfortable, and the housekeeping team did a fantastic job keeping everything spotless. If you’re looking for a place that combines beautiful scenery, convenience, and excellent service, Hotel Catamarán is it. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

If I could use 0 Stars I would. Resort has been used very loosely. The front desk did all they could to convince me the room overlooking the pool was my ‘best, exceptional’ room option - ‘completely renovated’ (maybe in 2000). Was told they had already upgraded us (to what bc if this was an upgrade, I’d hate to see the other options). The room was filthy: bed sheets dirty, filth on the sink, shower curtain yellow stained, carpet old - frayed - dirty. The noise level with other guests and music was at a 10 EVERY night. We could not even enjoy our sliding door to balcony because of the excess noise. We tried to relax after a busy day of sightseeing and the noise, through the closed sliding door (which didn’t lock), was unnerving. I called to ask for the music to be turned down and was given attitude. No elevated in our part of the ‘Resort’ (200) so had to pack 5 suitcases, along with other carry-on bags, up to our room. YEP, SUPER OPTION (insert sarcasm). Super disappointing for the price of the rooms. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

A Beautiful Spot Made Even Better by Amazing Service! As a European tourist exploring San Diego, I was delighted to stumble upon the Catamaran Resort’s beach club during my visit. The location is truly breathtaking—set right on Mission Bay, it offers a serene escape with soft sandy beaches and calm waters that are perfect for relaxing or trying out some water activities. It felt like a tropical haven, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind. What made my experience even more memorable, though, was the outstanding service I received at the beach club’s shop. A young lady named Sana made me feel incredibly welcome from the moment I walked in. She was warm, friendly, and full of energy, and her excellent customer service left such a positive impression. Not only did she help me find everything I needed for my time at the beach, but she also gave me fantastic recommendations on how to make the most of my visit. As someone traveling from Europe, I appreciated Sana’s genuine enthusiasm and her ability to make me feel right at home in a new place. It’s clear she takes pride in her work, and she added a personal touch to my experience that I won’t soon forget. If you’re visiting San Diego, I highly recommend stopping by the Catamaran Beach Club.
