It’s a Michelin 2 star restaurant. We expected a little bit more than what we paid. It’s about $450 each person, no alcohol ordered, with one $85 dollar dish (two of us shared one) added. The summer inspiration food is not tasty as I expected. The dessert cart is too sweet. The normal dishes are good. Love the lamb. But it’s just so so for all the other food. The service is ok. Typical Michelin start restaurant service. One not that good experience is that two guests just came in and order some dessert to-go. Then the chef or someone who works in the kitchen just came out and chat in front of two table guests, for like 20 minutes. They might be friends or something. But it’s just not that good experience for other customers.

Amazing restaurant, the food was delicious and the service perfect. The homemade pasta with the white truffle were soooo good. They have a pastry Chef so make sure you have room for dessert!

I came here for the tasting menu. Every dish is decadent and delicious. The optional caviar course is a must. The two pasta dishes are insanely yummy. Foie gras sauce for the ridged pasta is out of this world. The hint of marsala wine in the sauce is just right. I could have had ten more servings. The bread game could have been stronger though. I was expecting some chewy Italian bread. Wine list is phenomenal. Service is great. The place is classy and elegantly decorated. Beautiful flower arrangement is everywhere.

This is a no nonsense and no gimmicks traditional Italian restaurant with 2 Michelin stars.
Its 4 course fixed menu with choices at each tier seems underwhelming compared to the usual 6-8-10. However, it turned out to be our favorite part of dining at Acquerello.
Why? The portions are big and plentiful. Our duck dish came with 4 slices (of perfection) when only 1 is usually given at other comparable establishments. The portions also allow you to try different offerings if you choose to share.
The “older” employees seem to have been with Acquerello for a long time. I didn’t ask, but my guess is that the owners care for them like family, which in turn is reflected in the cozy and warmth atmosphere. They were just happy that we enjoyed their food.
We left feeling full (and I don’t mean the I ate too much and I’m stuffed). It’s was the satisfying kind of full. Neither pretentious or overbearing, it was a just great place with traditional dishes elevated to top tier.
As a final, don’t be intimidated by their dress code. You also don’t need to whisper. It was lively with chatter and the staff didn’t seem to mind :)
