I’ll start with the positive: beautiful grounds, great pool and the restaurants were fantastic. The valet were super nice. Also each room is its own little “bungalow” which was nice.
Where they are lacking: I booked this overnight stay last minute (like literally the night before) so I didn’t do any research and when I arrived the check in left much to be desired. When is the pool open? How to get to my room? Literally no information basically just here is your key. Not knowing anything about the resort I started searching the website for information on things to do etc. Which is where I found out you need a car to get to the beach. The valet was very nice and let me know how to get to my room. Went to the pool, it’s beautiful, but the service was so slow, I think they had only one waiter for the whole pool and almost all the chairs were filled.
The rooms are dated, there’s nowhere to plug your phone in by the bed. It’s oddly dark like the lights wouldn’t get much brighter and the nightstand is super long. When getting out of bed I hit the pointy corner of the nightstand with my leg several times and have a huge bruise.
The beach is nowhere by so if you’re looking for beachfront this is not it.

Incredibly elegant resort. Very calming and quiet. Maybe not a place for the kids. The bungalow rooms are all very private with beautiful views. The staff are all amazing. Everyone greets you even when walking around the grounds. In the room housekeeping even wrap up your cords with Velcro - a first in my experience 😂.

Each and every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time. I can't recommend this resort enough! -- The service at Pelican Hill is extraordinary! Far beyond any resort we have ever experienced.

I wish we had stayed longer. I am sure we will do that next time we visit California. We would have loved to enjoy the amenities that Pelican Hill has to offer. -- Besides your beautiful property and how clean and neat everything was, I enjoyed my interactions with your team members. Jared at the bell when we arrived was super courteous and helpful. And Cassidy greeted us with excitement and was so welcoming that made an A+ impression on us.

Definitely the place to stay in Orange County. We were traveling with kids and their grandpa so a bungalow worked out perfect! The views are spectacular and the round pool is epic! We were down here in December - January and the water was warm. A night swim was memorable and a hot tub after was perfect. Love their coffee shop too!
