We had a very nice stay here. My wife and kids raved about the breakfast in the restaurant and I thought the staff was friendly and room was clean. Great location by the marina and within walking distance to several restaurants. We had an ocean view which was quite nice. This is also the endpoint of the famous Cannonball sea to sea road race, so lots of cool history. My favorite thing to do was come down to the lobby seating area by the windows and get morning coffee and enjoy the view.

Just okay!! $500.00 plus a night felt like $50.00 a night.
A/c stopped working last night of a three day stay. Couldn’t open sliding door due to smoke from another balcony Got locked out of my room 3rd day. Bathroom is lacking in lighting. The shower curtain was useless water all over floor. Towels are limited. They call that a rain shower head? Seriously.
Make sure you have door dash. Toast at breakfast service nearly broke our teeth (room service)
The pluses are: The beautiful view from ocean side is awesome. Sea lions awesome. Valet were nice maids were nice.

Definitely an amazing view and awesome location. Price is a little high for how small the room is. I noticed stains on carpet and scrapes black marks in and outside of closet and cabinets. This place would be a perfect 5 if maintained. I really enjoy walking into the lobby because it is so cozy warm and pretty.

Twice I paid them and twice they added fee upon fee when I paid.
Twice I tried booking with them, and the customer service was below par.
When I arrived, they added a $32 parking fee that they didn't tell me when I originally booked. We agreed to a price, and they didn't honor it.
I ordered room service. They wanted me to sign and add a tip to an unitemized bill before looking at the itemization. The bill was 50% over what it should be. There was a surprise 33% room service fee and 20% mandatory tip. They wanted me to tip on the 50% marked up price, which included a tip, without me knowing. The menu advertised 1 price, and they did not honor it.
Check out was at 11AM. Cleaning staff came into our room at 9:15AM saying we already checked out, which simply wasn't true.
It was a nice room with a great view.
Their service was poor. Their pricing is dishonest.

The Portofino would get 1 star if it wasn't for the quality of the food at the restaurant. A few things to keep in mind before you spend $500+/night.
- AC stopped working every night in the middle of the night
- The hotel bar was closed during a busy Friday and Saturday because of lack of staff
- Although the food at the restaurant is excellent, be prepared to wait at least an hour from the time you order to the time you receive your food
- The pool is abysmal. Honestly a bit embarrassing for a "high quality" hotel
- You can hear your neighbors private conversations even at a whisper.
Overall, if you have to stay in the area, I would try to choose something at less cost because it will be the same low star quality.
