I absolutely recommend the Maxwell house as a wedding venue! The architecture of this historical mansion is so beautiful, It gave our wedding a more unique feel than your typical hall. From the ornate ceilings, beautiful grand staircase to the fine art hung up on every wall - it was everything we imagined for our day! Cindy was so kind and responsive, the whole staff was amazing! Thank you Maxwell House.

I absolutely recommend the Maxwell house as a wedding venue! The architecture of this historical mansion is so beautiful, It gave our wedding a more unique feel than your typical hall. The Maxwell House and staff were fantastic! Their partnership and collaboration for this beautiful event for my Mother turned out lovely. There is no other place I could have imagined celebrating my Mom's birthday.
The Maxwell House is just exquisite! The teams guidance, planning support, and client portal kept me organized and prepared ahead of the event. The number of compliments received on the venue alone was amazing!!! This venue is truly one of the best historical spots in Pasadena.
Rae, Stephanie, and staff were a treat to work with. They were awesome and ready to help me day of wherever needed!
Thank you again for helping bring this joyous occasion to life! I can't wait to host my next event here!! If you have the opportunity to book here, go for it. You will not regret it!!

Beautiful venue for a wedding looking for a more intimate setting. The bride entered down stairs outside and the ceremony was outdoors. I would recommend it on a less than hot day for those wishing to book or an evening time when the sun is setting. They had a bar area, dance area, dining room and buffet room. They allowed my friend to place lights for personalization so they do allow some changes to the venue. Would definitely attend an event here again.

YWCA Glendale and Pasadena held a special year end reception for our funders, program partners, and board members at the Maxwell House. What a beautiful space to bring our community together - the location is stunning, with in and outdoor options and the much sought after free parking! A nice perk is having a COVID compliance officer to ensure that all public safety protocols are being met, including checking for vaccination status or negative tests. This allowed us to provide a very safe and welcoming environment for all. Working with the Maxwell House's events team made everything seamless, smooth, and turn key. We plan to continue hosting events here as you would be hard pressed to find another venue like this in Pasadena!

I'm a photographer and so I visit and shoot at a lot of venues. The Maxwell House is a beautiful old house.
CONS: The main hall gets very dark very fast. The house is small for a wedding venue, so moving around is difficult and you're really limited with who you can invite. Their covid measures are very restrictive (as of November 2021 you have to have a vaccination card to enter, no negative tests or anything else). I've heard from couples that they are very strict with their rules.
PROS: Very beautiful, historic old house. It had a nice, spacious getting ready area. Beautiful old windows upstairs for photographing details. The area around the venue is very photogenic and has a lot of little nooks and interesting architecture to photograph in. If you know how to use OCF, it's a breeze to photograph.
