South Coast Winery Resort & Spa

7/5/22 My friend used her membership to let my husband and I book a two-night stay at the resort. It was the LONGEST two nights of my life! We made reservations to eat brunch at the Vineyard Rose Restaurant on-site before checking-in. The outdoor dining area is in need of some serious upgrades, with the ceiling caving in and all. They lay the silverware on the table, outside of the cloth napkins, waiting for guests arrival, which kind of disturbed me with Covid still on the rise and the confident little brown birds, jumping all over the tables and chairs, the whole time. Check-in was seamless. However, one of the elevators was broken, so we waited patiently for the one working elevator, each time we ventured outside. We came back to eat at Vineyard Rose for Intermezzo and checked in as a walk-in for dinner. The service was hit and miss. We lucked up with one really friendly server during Intermezzo, who also made amazing drinks. It was too bad the hotel has no microwave in sight to warm up your leftovers or pop popcorn (like we had planned to do). One of the first thing I noticed after using the restroom and washing my hands, was the makeup on the hand towel. I don’t wear makeup. Also, the carpet and furniture were visibly stained. During our stay, we could literally hear each time our neighbors turned on their water and took showers. The A/C made an obnoxiously loud noise, every time it came on during the first night. The second night, we got to listen to it make this annoying ticking/popping noise, ALL night long. The bed was SO hard, I woke up both days with sore arms/shoulders, and back. We found out that the tub in the bathroom was not a jacuzzi tub, like we thought. The last night of our stay, we went to the pool area at 8:20pm for a soak in the jacuzzi before bed. The pool guy was cleaning it and said that it closed at 8pm, which contradicted the 9pm closing time posted on the pool gate entrance. The spa was closed during our visit because it was a holiday weekend, so I couldn't have paid for a $155 massage or use the spa amenities, even if I wanted to. The room setup and the balcony view was impressive, but that was about it. Definitely not worth the $800 I paid for a relaxing weekend getaway.

My wife and I had a great time. The whole staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating. Especially Michael at the front desk. Definitely went above and beyond in making sure we were taken care of. The resort is super clean, pretty, and totally relaxing. The pool staff did a great job too. We don’t get to get out often because of babies and Michael and everyone else made it so worth the time away. Thanks again everyone.

My wife and I booked a day at the spa with a couples massage. When we checked in at the front the staff greeted us and showed us around. I was able to relax in the spa and sauna before getting my massage. Afterwards we enjoyed an included glass of wine while sitting on the balcony overlooking the pool and palm trees. We were able to spend the next few hours enjoying the pool and spa as well. The pool area has a place to order food and drinks, Mario took our orders and was very helpful with informing us about the food & drink menu and showed great customer service toward us. Thank you to Mario and the staff for making our day at the spa great!

This review is just for the wines and tasting room hospitality. 5 of us booked a grape stomping. When we got there we realized buying a case of wine was mandatory with stomping. None of us were going to take 12 wine bottles home and one of our friends was from different state where they didn't ship. They wouldn't allow us to buy just the stomping. But they were nice enough to give us a refund and gave 1 additional tasting per stomping tickets purchase. We tried a lot of different wines. I am not a white wine person, but they have very good selection. I wouldn't say location and ambience are great but they were pretty good. Overall we had a great time.

Was just at the winery yesterday for tasting. Customer service was great. The young gentleman who served wine to my husband and I was courteous and professional. The wine were delicious and the olive oil was heavenly. My bad, I have no cash on me at the time (lost at the casino), he deserved a huge tip... next time. I highly recommend wine tasting at South Coast Winery.🍷
