We were in town one day on a layover and booked the Gourmet Express 3-Hour Lunch Train. It was perfect excursion a day in Napa. We enjoyed our sparkling wine on arrival. I also ordered a wine flight and my friend had one of the delicious cocktails. There were more menu options than I imagined. We both started with the beet salad which was so fresh. She had the grilled tenderloin and I had the seasonal risotto. Both very delicious. The desserts were, too. The service is paced nicely and we had time to walk through all of the cars and take lots of photos and videos. I’d love to return and make plans to sit in another cabin. It was truly a perfect day in Napa.

Overall I had an excellent time on the wine train. I've been wanting to do this for a few years now, and I finally purchased my ticket last minute and treated myself. The service was excellent and the train was like a step back in time. The first few minutes of the ride on the east (?) side of the train are not the prettiest view. You ride through a trailer park and some people's back yards and see a couple of homeless people laying out, which is unfortunate and no one's fault. But it did take the charm away just a little bit. Before the ride, I was approached by an unfortunate fellow in the parking lot who asked me how can a poor person like himself get a ride on the train. It was a little sad. Also, beware if you get nauseous easily as there is a rhythmic back and forth rocking for the duration of the 3 hour ride. I was fine and I didn't hear any complaints from anyone on the train, but I thought about if I had brought my sister, she may have had some problems. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend the train to spend a lovely afternoon in wine country.

It was a perfect first day in Napa Valley! Such a different way to see the valley. The food exceeded expectations and we brought wine on to drink ($20 corking fee). The stops were fun and Nick did everything possible to bring energy and make sure we all had fun even though we were a small, low key group!

My three hour gourmet lunch train was amazing. The staff was very accommodating for us and our infant and the ride was scenic and just the right length. The food was absolutely delicious and well worth the price. It was the best beef tenderloin I've ever had. Of course the wine was delicious as you would expect. I recommend getting there early for pictures as they have some great selfie stations and can serve some wine while you wait for the train. Lots of comfortable seating in the station.

This was booked for part of a road trip myself and mum were doing. We wanted an experience where we could relax and dress nicely for the day.
We were a little shocked by the price when booking but had seen good reviews so decided to go ahead with the Afternoon Tea.
We loved every minute of it! Kevin, our host, was brilliant and gave us some great information along the journey. The staff were extremely attentive.
The food was exceptional (apart from one of the cakes which was a little dry, but that didn’t bother us as we were extremely full from the rest of the food selection).
We very much enjoyed the welcome drink but felt that for the price we could have been given a 2nd cocktail before having the option to purchase more. We understand it was the afternoon tea package but it’s also the wine train, so would have been nice to have a sample of something else included.
Upon arrival we were gifted a souvenir pin and car sticker. We also got a professional photo (taken in front of the train) in a card frame when leaving.
The journey took around 3hrs from start to finish and the tea kept flowing throughout.
The views were great however we were seated on the left side and felt that the right had a slightly better view of the vineyards throughout.
It was also a special birthday for my mum and they gave her a lovely card for the occasion.
