Positives: great location in arrowhead! The lobby is super cute and has a welcoming ambiance. On-site restaurant seems decent! Close to other great local restaurants.
Negatives: I was very disappointed at the state of our room given the price point of this hotel. The wall paper was peeling in many places, the carpet was stained pretty heavily, there was mold near the vents, the leather headboard was in tatters, and we found a used pimple patch on the Inside of the shower, see photo (eww!). Hoping for a quiet, mid week getaway we were sad to see the pool closed due to thunder (understandable) only to find out the “spa” zone doesn’t have any co-ed jacuzzi or steam room options. We didn’t really pay to getaway together only to hang out separately.
I also wish staff was more cognizant of room placement. We had what sounded like a herd of elephants above our room, which wouldn’t have been so troubling had their jumping off furniture and racing across the floors not continued until nearly 1am only to recommence at 7am sharp. The front desk said they would look into it, but nothing came of it. Definitely not the relaxing getaway you would anticipate from a mid-week stay at a “spa resort”

4 months after getting married at this resort, I came back with my husband to celebrate my birthday. We prepaid and reserved a lakeside king room. After checking in at the front desk, we went to our room and noticed it was a double queen room. We went back to front desk and they said it was a “glitch” in their system and they gave me a different room. We went to that room and noticed it wasn’t a lakeside room so we went back to front desk again. They again changed our room and assured us it was King with a lakeside view. Once we got to room, there was no view of the lake whatsoever. Exhausted, we gave up and just decided to leave this review.
As a side note, even during my wedding, we encountered many issues with the room booking service. We had booked for 2 nights but were given a single night and they requested us to remove our items. We even offered to double pay for the second night since this was all happening during the actual wedding day events but they refused. We were forced to send family members to the room to help pack and remove our items in the middle of my wedding reception! Anyways, great location, beautiful lake, garbage service and whatever “glitches” their system has needs to be sorted out ASAP. I’m a frequent traveler and this is by far the worst service I’ve encountered.

Love this resort! Enjoyed 4 days here. The service is exceptional! Ruth at the frontdesk is Amazing. She went above & beyond & made sure my stay was pleasant. I have never received such great service from a front desk like Ruth! :) Deming the restaurant manager gives exceptional service, I was impressed with him. Heath, the sous chef came out to greet guests at the restaurant which was a treat. Chelsea at the coffee shop was a delight, always bubbly & cheerful! Aaron, the beverage & food manager was a delight to meet too. All the employees at this resort are pleasant, attentive & professional - A Great Example of Customer Service. I loved Everything about this resort: location is next to the lake offering beautiful & relaxing views, spacious, clean & comfy room, delicious food from the resort restaurant, stylish rustic chic decor, GREAT Service from EVERYONE, walking distance to the Alpine Village. I really enjoyed my stay & I'm looking forward to a return trip :) Thank you Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa!!

We actually loved this hotel so much! The staff, the amenities, and the activities that were offered were all amazing.
We went at Christmas, and there was a hot chocolate bar each day, Christmas movies each night and even Santa and his elf came to read the kids stories. So cute!
Our room did smell— maybe from the lake… but other than that everything was perfect! We will be back each year!

We had a king bed room that faced the water. The swim area at the lake is really disappointing. You can't go deeper than chest high. The pool was fine but very crowded most of the time and often they didn't have enough towels to accommodate everyone.
The lake itself is private, which means there are loads of restrictions. You cannot do anything in the water unsupervised, including kayaks.
The biggest problems come from the room itself and some of the service we received.
The entire resort smells like mildew and we quickly realized why. I found mold in our bathroom. The carpet was extremely stained. I saw splatters on the wall that looked like blood. Worst of all the bathroom was infested with ants.
Despite all of this we tried to have a good time and I booked a massage at the spa.
The front desk at the spa and my massage therapist were extremely rude. The room in which I received my massage was freezing cold. To the point where my massage therapists hands and arms were extremely cold. So trying to put the rudeness aside I still could not enjoy my massage.
Nobody asked if I enjoyed my service and when I left a tip at the front desk the man said "that's it?"
I felt so unwelcome the entire time, then with that comment, I was speechless.
I am a person with high anxiety and this was so uncomfortable and awkward.
Really don't recommend this place.
