We’ve been Hyatt members for many years and truly enjoy their amazing service. This specific location consists of timeshares and to my knowledge, because of its location, it doesn’t have elevators. The units are built on hilly ground and the rooms are in serious need of renovation. However, despite the old interior, the view of the ocean is so spectacular, that all imperfections become insignificant. Please note that unlike most other Hyatt resorts that are pet friendly, this one does not accept pets and there are no ATM machines on the premises. The restaurant has the best disposition, as its elongated spacious design, overlooks the captivating views of the ocean and depending on the time of day, the majestic colorful sky makes the experience even more memorable. My compliments to the management team for resolving couple of issues we had. The food was great, the live music at night was great. We truly love Hyatt and appreciate their service. This location is perhaps the most romantic quick getaway you may find.

We just spent a week in a timeshare unit with a beautiful partial ocean view. We had a split-level townhouse with full kitchen and two bathrooms. The unit itself was in decent shape, but as seniors we found the fairly steep and narrow stairs to be a little challenging, as well as the parking situation. Our larger vehicle had to be parked in an upper lot, a small hike from our unit. Good thing we're in pretty good shape! During check-in at 4, we were informed that that there would be a wait due to the staff being behind in cleaning units. After waiting for about an hour, we received an apology and a $75 credit to use in the resort. Everyone on the staff were great, super friendly. The only noise we encountered was while on the bottom floor of the unit, where there were very loud and noticeable bumps and bangs as the people in the carport spaces below slammed doors and trunks. We didn't watch much TV, but the choices could be better. Very limited channels and choices for this day and age. All in all a good experience.

We have been Hyatt Residence Club timeshare “owners” for 15+ years and have stayed at the Highlands Inn many times. All stays PRIOR to our stay beginning February 4, 2024, were wonderful; however, it’s likely we will not return after last week’s stay.
As a result of a powerful storm, the power was out to all rooms when we checked in on Sunday and still out (with POSSIBLE restoration late Tuesday night) when we opted to check out on Tuesday (two days early). The lodge/lobby was the only building with generator-produced power in the entire facility. The room was dark and very cold. There was no hot water for showering.
As reasonable people, we understand that the power outage is not the responsibility of Hyatt or the inn; however, there was NO acknowledgement of our discomfort by hotel staff. No offer of comped meals or drinks. And, now we are being told that Hyatt will provide NO compensation from, not only the two nights we stayed, but also not for the two nights for which we cancelled. Again, due to the fact that there was no power to the room.
Prior to our stay, we had seen several negative reviews indicating the hotel was no longer the five-star hotel it had once been. Sadly, we confirm this to be the case.

We got a suite and the ocean view rooms, the giant jetted tub was just as promised if not better. The kitchen with microwave was great to have.
We had a great time here and will be back!
The property is beautiful and the Pacific’s Edge restaurant has amazing breakfast and service staff.
The only negative is the wood fire smoke from a the fireplaces kept making me sick. A property like this should convert to gas fireplaces.

My anticipation for my stay at this hotel was high, but unfortunately, it ended in profound disappointment. While the picturesque views were remarkable, numerous shortcomings regarding customer service and the room itself overshadowed the experience. For example, despite being informed that we'd receive a notification when our room was ready due to our early arrival, no communication was received even well beyond the promised time of 4 pm. When we politely raised this concern, the front desk staff denied any problem. To add to the dissatisfaction, my $34 omelette contained eggshells, a glaring oversight. Furthermore, the room was very dusty, tired, and worn-out. These were just a few of the examples of the disappointment, especially given the high price tag associated with the hotel.
Additionally, it's worth noting, although not necessarily anticipated but typically appreciated, we found it necessary to inquire about our globalist benefits upon arrival. Disappointingly, several of these benefits, such as early check-in/late check-out/possible upgrades, were not possible at this particular hotel. The overall experience fell significantly short of my expectations.
