Heavenly Mountain Resort - Lakeview Lodge

One of my favorite Ski resorts. Have been coming here for a few years now. The slopes are nicely combed if you a re a snowboarder. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. World like to see it opened evenings a bit later, but the lights are none negotiable…

Honestly a bit too commercial for a regular ski tripper’s taste. A lot of tourist shops and casinos at the bottom. Getting across the resort is a pain due to very long flat catwalks that even go uphill in places. The worst catwalks we have experienced between pnw, Canada, Colorado, and Utah. Now to be fair the views are among the best we have seen at any ski resort in the states and the staff is among the most friendly. Hence the 3 stars. If you are not linked to epic pass would recommend you explore other options in California.

Heavenly Ski Resort in South Lake Tahoe has quickly become one of my favorite ski destinations. From the moment I arrived, I was enchanted by the festive atmosphere, as the resort is always beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The twinkling lights and winter wonderland vibes truly add to the overall experience, making it feel like a magical getaway. One of the highlights of Heavenly is the abundance of shops and dining options available. Whether you’re looking for a cozy place to warm up with a hot chocolate or a full meal to refuel after a day on the slopes, there's something for everyone. The variety of eateries makes it easy to find the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains. For families, the Ski and Snowboarding schools for kids are a fantastic offering. It’s reassuring to know that my little ones are in good hands while learning the basics of skiing and snowboarding. The instructors are friendly and skilled, ensuring that the kids have a fun and safe experience on the slopes. However, it’s worth noting that the pricing has increased compared to previous years. Expect to pay over $200 for lift tickets, which can feel a bit steep, especially for families. While the experience is undoubtedly worth it, the higher costs may require some budgeting ahead of time. Despite the price increase, I had a fantastic experience on my first snow day of the season. The snow conditions were excellent, and the variety of trails catered to all skill levels, making it easy to find the perfect run. Additionally, the resort's proximity to popular spots like Harvey’s, Harrah’s, and the Hard Rock Cafe makes it a convenient choice for those looking to unwind after a day on the slopes. Overall, Heavenly Ski Resort is a wonderful destination for both skiing enthusiasts and families alike. The festive ambiance, excellent amenities, and beautiful scenery make it a must-visit, even if the pricing is a bit on the higher side. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Tahoe’s best views. Great for intermediates. Limited beginner and expert terrain. Lines get pretty long but I always have a great time.
