A very beautiful location in Santa Monica and a lovely property. The bungalows and poolside rooms are wonderful, but the last few stays I have been in the hotel tower which is showing its age. It's comfortable but not what I would classify as luxury. Service was good for a middling hotel but less than I had expected from this level of hotel -- staff were friendly but it seemed understaffed in the bar, restaurant, and front desk.

I stayed here for a work event and had a nice experience.
Very attentive staff, almost too much (in a good way). I arrived around 2pm but the room wasn't available until 3pm. The valet got my bags and once my room was ready, I got my key and found that my bags were already in my room, including my clothes hung in the closet!
I received a nice view of the pool and ocean on the 4th floor. No annoying sounds at night, and the room temperature was adjustable and comfortable. The pillows and bed were both comfortable - not too soft and not too firm. I prefer a firm bed, and although this bed was softer, I was still able to sleep comfortably.
My room included a small bar area with a fridge and a sink in the same living room area. The bedroom and bathroom were both very generously large and clean. I usually don't like walking around without shoes in a hotel, but I felt comfortable doing so in my room.
The TVs had a Chromecast with the ability to set up your phone to cast videos or watch the standard channels, which I thought was a nice touch since most of the stuff I watch is streamed from my phone.
Overall, my experience was great and I would recommend staying here if it's in your budget and itinerary.

I stayed here for a work event and had a nice experience.

The hotel was nice but the service was a bit disappointing. When we arrived we presented an email we received from the hotel two days before which said we could upgrade our room for free. To which the man at the desk said that they don’t send out emails like that. I said “well I didn’t send the email to myself, did I?”. When we showed him the email he didn’t seem interested and made it seem that we were trying to cheat the hotel out of something; he was quite rude. I wouldn’t mind being looked down on by the hotel owner himself but this guy only works there and it’s us paying the $1700 for three nights which is keeping him in a job, so maybe be a bit more respectful next time.
The room was ok but they are a bit tired over in the Palisades Tower particularly the bathroom; maybe in the other tower they are a bit more modern. The pool and hot tub are very nice and quiet late at night, as is the hotel bar and the overall proximity to Santa Monica beach is great.

Had a great stay here with the family just after Christmas. Everyone enjoyed being so close to the beach / boardwalk and so many great restaurants nearby and right on the water.
The rooms are quiet and relaxing, with well-maintained and elegant decor. The refillable water bottle system was impressive and innovative… love that!
We had a minor billing problem, but Andrew in the front office went above and beyond researching and fixing it proactively based only on a review comment. That level of service is rare, even in very high end establishments. Thanks!

It was our anniversary and we sent the certificate just to make sure we were treated nicely. No such thing. We got a room next to the club, which was awful. Male sauna wasn't working and we were still charged the resort fee. It's just not a very good Fairmont, compared to others. No cutlery in the room and the housekeeping line wasn't working. It's just an awful hotel.
