We booked a package including a suite, parking for 7 days, breakfast for 2, and a ride to the cruise for 2. We needed the room for 5 people the day before a cruise because it was right next to the Cruise Ship Doc. Unfortunately, it turned out that it was not the location where Carnival Cruises out. BUT if it is any other of the cruises it is literally walking distance to the ships. Great location for any other cruise other than Carnival.
The hotel itself is a little bit run down. We had a two bedroom suite on the top floor. It came with two double beds and one pull out couch. It also included 1 full bathroom and a half bathroom witch was nice. The tub was worn and the plugs near the bed did not work. There was a small fridge and microwave and TVs in both rooms. The beds were clean but not too comfortable. They bowed in the middle and were just... small.
The vouchers for a shuttle to the cruise were of no use to us because it was to the wrong location. So they were nice enough to include another 3 breakfasts for our family. Breakfast is not included in the regular room rates. Breakfast was decent. Had a nice breakfast bar with waffles, eggs, bacon, sausages, oatmeal, cereal, juice, milk, fruit, cheese, deli meats, breads, danishes and more.
The reason I rated this hotel so low is because the night we came we noticed our full bathroom start to fill with cigarette smoke. We Called down to the front desk and let them know. We did not know if it was coming from below, or from the side but you could literally see the smoke in the bathroom. We shut the door so that it would stay in the bathroom. But throughout the night and into the morning it continued to the point it started to fill one of the bedrooms making it unusable. They said they would take care of it. But nothing ever happened and we finally left early because we could not breath. When we checked out they did take $50 off of our $220 bill for the "cruise package." I did appreciate the deduction but I felt like our concerns were never truly addressed and $50 was not an adequate response.
Service was polite... Managers were non existent.

When sailing out of the port across the street, this is about as close as you can get. We stayed here in January and the service was just ok at best. Thought we would give it another try in June again and had a terrible experience with the guy checking us in. He had longer hair and was very loud and overall extremely abrasive . Zero customer service skills whatsoever. No towels in the pool and the parking was a bit of a pain. Overall I would say stay further away, everything is close here. We won’t stay here again.

Arrived at the Crowne Plaza on my birthday quite excited for my stay. Was helped to get checked in my room with no issues and enjoyed the pool and hot tub after noticing many malfunctions with maintenance noises across the hall, elevator malfunctions, and a quite suspicious looking parking lot. Went to enjoy a shower when I and my other guests inspected the shower head to what it looked like to be mold and or rust. I decided to look past it and proceed with my day. While out in the town I received a call from the front desk asking if I could return to the front desk to retry my payment method. I immediately checked my bank account and saw no type of error or reason as to why I would need to retry my payment method. Furthermore I came back to the desk and spoke when a gentleman who with extreme volume told me my card had declined. I think it is also necessary to add that this is several hours after check in and I am able to see the charges applied to my account. I asked how something of the sort was either one missed or acceptable for hours and then not. He proceeded to not take ownership for the company’s own mistake and told me the “smartest” thing to do was to just use another card. I find this very condescending and disrespectful and no where I want to spend my hard earned money nor my birthday. Not only do I think full compensation is necessary but a serious meeting with HR and management.

This hotel is within walking distance to the harbor, Maritime Museum, and Battleship Iowa, as well as trolley stops. The staff was very attentive. The rooms were well appointed and clean. I can't easily to go back.

Crowne Plaza is key for those planning to spend the night before a cruise (the cruise terminal location is only a few minutes from the hotel) and the night before going to the airport. However, there are some great places to visit nearby. For this reason, planning some time to explore the area is a great idea. This hotel has a great lobby area, a restaurant with great food and service, and a self-checkout store. Restrooms are conveniently located and available only to stayers. The employees are not only friendly but very helpful; they anticipate situations, so the stay will go smoothly; it is super clean; it is a very modern place with several cozy spots. It is a must-visit hotel.
