Our annual college move out for our daughter! Didn't realize I booked this beautiful room until I arrived. We have always wanted to book here. It is a beautiful hotel 😍 Clean and safe. We had an amazing views. Literally walking distance to everything in Old Town, loved it. My walks with my son were FAB. We definitely coming back.

Perfect location, excellent service. I had an easy and comfortable stay could not ask for more the staff was super friendly! Kevin with housekeeping made sure we had everything we needed for our room. Kevin is was super amazing he was so friendly and his customer service and hospitality was top notch his interpersonal skills was top notch as well. He was so kind I wish we had services like that at other hotels we had stayed at! I wished there was more Kevin’s like him at hotels that we have stayed at!!!

Perfect location, excellent service. I had an easy and comfortable stay could not ask for more the staff was super friendly! Kevin with housekeeping made sure we had everything we needed for our room. Kevin is was super amazing he was so friendly and his customer service and hospitality was top notch his interpersonal skills was top notch as well. He was so kind I wish we had services like that at other hotels we had stayed at! I wished there was more Kevin’s like him at hotels that we have stayed at!!!

Wow, the first mistake I made was not reading the list of reviews here. Now I know why I’m being treated poorly, it appears that’s just how they are!
Upon checking in, the man at the desk realized my platinum status and said, “oh, I can upgrade your room” and handed me two bottles of warm water.
Our troubles began right out of the gate. Our keys wouldn’t work in the door, so twice up and down the stairs to the lobby. Finally we get into our “upgraded” room. Upgraded?? It was far from being a nice room. Average, just okay, small and not as clean as it should have been.
Around 6am we were awoken by a stench in our room. The toilet was full and the bathtub had about 4” of RAW SEWAGE floating in it. The front desk was going to send maintenance to the room (808), I said we would need a new room ASAP. This wasn’t going to be something maintenance was just going to fix! I wasn’t taking a shower in that!
We were in San Diego a short time and had places to be. Reluctantly we were given new keys to 818. Funny thing, it was nicer than the “upgraded” room. I had to ask for free breakfast, it was not offered. I told them due to our unfortunate circumstances I’d like free breakfast. I was given vouchers and told that the manager would be in the next morning and she was certain there would be compensation.
Upon check out the manager was not there. The front desk gal gave me free parking but only because I requested it and I would be calling management regarding further compensation.
I emailed and called and the four additional contacts I’ve had the manager has never spoken to me. She sends her staff to call or answer my calls.
No additional comps. Where every other Best Western I’ve stayed in (and that’s 100’s!) breakfast and parking is included. This is NOT a comparable compensation. I’m NOT happy.
I’m also not happy with the corporate office who hasn’t returned my calls or emails.
I will not give up and I will not stay at a Best Western again.

Do not stay here with small children.... Where do start? I have stayed at Best Westerns all over this country and this location was by far the worst. First, the hotel appears to have a beautiful property but as you take a closer look the hotel is falling apart. There was leaks in the ceiling, we had a centipede in our room, window locks were broken and we had to tape up the blinds for privacy. The pool wasn't clean, all the elevator were raggedy and not properly inspected (the inspection expired march of 2024) and to top it off the property isn't secure from the outside foot traffic.
There was an attempted abduction from one of the rooms off the Plaza. The window lock was broken and at 3am a man broken in and tried to steal a little girl. The cops were called and the hotel staff was notified. Funny enough the next day staff had no idea this happened and were totally clueless.
