Dec 15, 2024 A Perfect Coastal Retreat at Agate Cove Inn
We escaped the awful weather of Texas and arrived at Agate Cove Inn with hopes to relax and refresh. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm and beauty of Agate Cove Inn.
Service: Communication was flawless from start to finish. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our stay seamless and stress-free. J.B., the manager, was an absolute delight—always greeting us with a warm smile and genuine hospitality.
Dining: Breakfast was a highlight! Freshly prepared and served in a dining room with breathtaking ocean views, it was the perfect way to start each day.
Room & Location: We stayed in the Emerald Room, and it exceeded our expectations. The room was spotless, cozy, and offered picture-perfect views of the Pacific. We enjoyed sitting on our private porch, soaking in the serenity of the ocean and gardens. The inn's location was ideal, with easy access to Mendocino, Russian Gulch State Park, and other nearby attractions.
Agate Cove Inn provided a truly relaxing and memorable experience. We cannot wait to return to this hidden gem on the Mendocino coast. Highly recommend!

Jan 6, 2025 We visited Agate Cove Inn the first week of December 2024; the team helped make our milestone anniversary getaway such a wonderful experience. We found the ocean views and lush garden wildly romantic, and our cottage, breakfast, and friendly welcome allowed us to really relax.
While the long stretch of unexpected December sun had us out hiking some of the inn's recommended trails, our room would have been ideal for admiring storms from inside, too.
A special callout to Susan, who advised on room choices before we booked, offered restaurant suggestions, and accepted delivery of the roses I ordered as part of my DIY floral arrangements while we were out and about!
As fairly independent travelers we enjoyed the way the inn ran and its emphasis on privacy and sustainability. We hope to return to the area -- and inn -- again!

Sep 26, 2024 I stayed here for 1 night while traveling up the coast and I was very pleased with my stay! I called and booked over the phone and was given very helpful instructions to get into my cottage after hours. I wish I had the time to stay another night. I was in the Zircon Cottage towards the back and really enjoyed everything - the bed was comfortable (soft but not too soft), whirlpool tub, and very nice view. It was a cozy cottage that had everything I needed. It was a great place to unwind after a long day of traveling and I really enjoyed breakfast and the view! The garden areas on the grounds and tea room were such nice additions. I would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone in the area! One of the nicest stays I’ve had somewhere in a long time!

Oct 22, 2024 Beautiful setting, friendly hospitality. Breakfast was very good with a fabulous view. Personally, we found the accommodation a little tired, but this could be end of season wear and tear. We were given a different room from our original booking. This gave us an ocean view as opposed to a garden view, very much appreciated. However, not sure that made up for Racoon we had in the roof area, which was very active through the night keeping us awake. Still Mendocino, what a beautiful town, if you get the opportunity, it's a must visit.

Oct 22, 2024 My husband and I loved our stay here on Oct. 2nd! Our only regret is that we didn't have time to stay a 2nd night. The amazing view is what attracted us to this Inn, but everything about it was wonderful, from the large, clean, and comfortable room and bed, to the friendly and helpful staff, to the delicious breakfast (also with a view - see the photos). It's a very short drive to town. We hope to come back to this Inn again someday.
